  73. document provides a brief description of the package and how to use it.

  121. The installation procedure for JOT is quite simple.  The
  122. package includes a program, "SETUP.EXE", which automates the
  123. entire process.  You will need about 650KB of available disk space
  124. on the hard drive on which you plan to install JOT.
  125.  
  126. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  127. JOT.
  128.

  130. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  131.  
  132. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  133.  
  134.    o  Place JOT distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the appropriate
  135.       diskette drive.
  136.  
  137.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  138.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  139.       the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  140.  
  141.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  142.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  143.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  144.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  145.       the JOT files to that directory.  If you received JOT
  146.       on two diskettes, you will need to insert Disk 2 in the diskette
  147.       drive when asked to do so.  If you so direct it, the installation
  148.       program will install executable programs and documentation in
  149.       other directories of your choice.  It will make no other changes;
  150.       specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys
  151.       files.

  154. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  155.  
  156. If you downloaded JOT from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  157. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  158. following steps.
  159.  
  160.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  161.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  162.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  163.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  164.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  165.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  166.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  167.       the package.
  168.  
  169.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  170.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  171.       the JOT package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS
  172.       command, "c:\tempdir\setup".

  174.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  175.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  176.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
